Reuniting with friends in Paris!

We took it easy this AM. Don't think BB has walked so much in his entire life. He slept 12 hours straight. I wanted him to get the exhaustion out of his system. Around noon we decided to check out Au Merveuilleuse - a much-talked about patisserie with special meringue cakes - in our neighborhood. Unfortunately our dessert dreams were quickly crushed since the bakery was under renovation. We went on to explore our quaint street studded with a librarie, chocolatier, boulangerie, framagerie, patisserie and yes, amidst all this a restaurant Indien! BB immediately expressed a craving for tandoori chicken - who cares about patisseries and boulangeries if there's a choice! *sigh* I caved in very very reluctantly and ordered a plate to go. It was sort of strange ordering desi food while talking to a desi in french. BB wolfed down his tandoori chicken in a jiffy, sitting en plein air with us outside a french patisserie. Oh the joys of parenting!

Later that afternoon, we got off at the Louvre metro station and took in the grand buildings that house the museum. Again BB commented that the pyramid was much larger than he had imagined. It was starting to rain and we walked under our umbrellas along the Seine towards the Latin quarter to meet friends from school for dinner.

The kids went crazy when they saw each other. This, mind you, after face timing every day from every part of the world. We dined at a Greek restaurant where BB had more tandoori chicken - Greek style this time. He also tried frog legs and escargots for the first time and said he sort of liked them. Post dinner we went for a walk around Notre Dame. The sky had cleared to a bright sunset shade of pinkish-blue. It was 9:30 pm and still spectacular. We split from our friends with the promise of catching up the following AM.
